One of the national services offered by NBIS/SciLifeLab is the Bioinformatics Peer review Support track (a.k.a. WABI), providing competences in large-scale data analysis for genomics, transcriptomics, proteomics, metabolomics, Cryo-EM/ET and other technologies. This support has been enabled by funding from the Knut and Alice Wallenberg Foundation, and is a part of the SciLifeLab & Wallenberg National Program for Data-Driven Life Science. We offer a senior bioinformatician to work on your project for up to 500 hours. The support is fully subsidized and free of charge, but extensive hands-on involvement is required by the applying research groups. To apply for support, we ask you to submit a small application about your project. More information along with the application form is found at the online submission here:
https://www.nbis.se/services/bioinformatics/peerreview/apply
NEW! As of 2023, this support track is also open to projects involving cryo-EM and cryo-ET applications (potentially combined with other structural biology and structure prediction methods).
Projects are selected based on their scientific quality. The deadline for the next round of applications to be reviewed by the national evaluation committee is
FRIDAY OCTOBER 6, 2023 (23:59)
NOTE!
1. Please note that the applications should be complemented with a Data Sheet, so that power, replicates, matching of samples and potential batch effects can be properly evaluated.
2. Please note that the involvement in the data analysis is explicitly stated, and that at least 50% working time devoted to data analysis over 12 months (6 months for Cryo-EM/ET) by a scientist in the group of the applicant or co-applicant is required for support.
Applications are welcome for projects
* anywhere in Sweden
* any type of large-scale omics, cryo-EM/ET, or data science application
* any bioinformatics or cryo-EM processing skills within the research group
The decision on what projects will be supported in this call is taken within two months from the application deadline. Typically, about 5-10 projects are granted support in each application round. For further questions, please do not hesitate to get in touch with the Bioinformatics support directly at bioinformatics_wabi [at] scilifelab [dot] se (bioinformatics_wabi[at]scilifelab[dot]se). Also note that the NBIS platform provides bioinformatics support in several different tracks as outlined here:
